Designed for throwing multiple consistent sized forms.
First decide on the size (diameter and height) and profile of the form, then estimate the amount of clay needed to create the piece. Throw the first form in the series. And while it is still on the wheel, set the gauge tips to mark the diameter and height using the thrown piece as your guide. Remove the first piece, then centre the next ball of clay. Open it, pull the wall and shape the form until the edge of the lip meets the tip of the throwing gauge and the width of the piece reached the second tip on the gauge. Repeat this for each form in the series. To finish use a rib to define the profile if required.
